A gem in the Hudson valley.

The tavern room is warm and intimate, the ballroom is cold and stark. The menu varies with the seasons, and sometimes the new menu gets off to a rough start, but the kitchen gets on their game quickly. Beer selection is always good, and with the Valley restaurant up the road, the wine cellar avaialable is beyond compare in the area.

Beautiful setting, accommodating staff, and tasty inventive food.

Tavern is the best-kept secret in the Hudson Valley. The food is creative, always imaginative, and never disappoints. The chef works such magic that even favorite comfort foods are reinvented to be better than you ever remember them. No snobbery here--just a warm, welcoming environment where you are treated like a treasured guest. Eating in the small room by the fire is always a special treat.

Delicious food, but an extremely limited menu. Tiny place forces shared tables sometimes.

Solid, good food; but better under the last chef.

Food adequate. Room is too big. Feels cold and uninviting. Service barely adequate. Cost high.

food always good but setting best in winter with that tavern fireplace

What was once one of the most beautiful outdoor dining spots ( mountain views, a wide expanse of green) has been enclosed. Why? Stiil, in winter the indoor space is lovely. Chef Eric has left, and hopefully the next chef will be able to stand in his formidable shoes.
