Hit-and-miss Asian-American fusion cuisine, with some weird results. Unpretentious digs and pleasant atmosphere (except for the management's poor taste in music). Fairly good food and beer selection but don't go far out of your way.

Has been consistently good food for the past 3 years. They must have had a substitute chef when I wrote my first review 3 years ago. All offerings have been imaginatively created and very tasty. Highly recommend.

Umami Cafe offers excellent tapas style dishes as well as main courses that incorporate locally grown ingredients with lots of eclectic flavors. I recently went to Umami in early December 2010 and the food was excellent. I also like the friendly prices and will definitely return here often.

Truly eclectic and fun dining

My wife and I love this place. Very casual, nice friendly service, and good quality food, but also very reasonable. It's nothing fancy but there are some very nice and different menu choices. It's our favorite place to take friends, more than one of whom have said they wanted to "MARRY the truffle mac & cheese".

Craig Purdy, the owner, and his hands-on managing approach make this a neighborhood favorite. Innovative food at good prices help.

Very small portions. No bread is served (a disaster according to my husband). Some of the seats are hard benches-- bring a pillow or don't stay too long!

It's fine. Creative and varied menu, ample portions, fun entertainment at times - nice people, nice place.
