David Markowitz lives and teaches flute in Westchester County, NY. He graduated from Yale University School of Music with a Master of Music degree in flute performance after studying with Ransom Wilson. David's BA from Oberlin College is in Music Theory and History.

Masterclass experience includes performing in the 2000 Julius Baker Flute Masterclasses. He has been teaching privately since 1999 and has also taught at various music schools, including the Mansfield Community School of the Arts (a division of the University of Connecticut) and currently at the Amadeus Conservatory of Music. David's book Tetrachords for Jazz is distributed by Charles Colin Publications. Recent activities include starting the New World Duo (flute and guitar), which performs Latin jazz and other Latin music.
