In addition, the Middle School was recognized as a “model of successful middle level education” and featured on “New York Learns,” a PBS media station. State Assessment results in Math, Science, Social Studies, and English Language Arts continue to place Port Chester elementary students in the 80th to 90th percentile of all schools in the State and among the best in Westchester County. At our high school, we have reduced the rate of failure by almost 50% among 9th grade students due to restructuring. Our Regents results continue to improve dramatically!

Port Chester
"Port Chester, first known as Saw Log Swampt and later as Saw Pit, was settled about 1650. Port Chester, post village, is on the New York and Connecticut turnpike, and west side of Byram River, which is here the boundary line of Connecticut and New York; it is pleasantly situated, and contains 3 churches, and about 100 dwellings. This place possesses a convenient landing for steamboats and sloops."
