As a psychotherapist Al Frankel has been helping individual children, teens and adults as well as couples and families for 30 years. Although he specializes in helping people going through divorce, he also works with a wide array of issues and problems. When working with children and teenagers he uses his unique style of combining humor, playfulness and empathy that works quite well to engage them in the treatment process.
As a divorce mediator, Al helps couples who have already decided that they wish to separate and divorce to do so as constructively as possible. When conducting divorce mediations, he co-mediates with attorney-mediator Jill Sanders-DeMott, J.D. Team mediation offers couples the benefit of having mediators with both psychological and legal professional backgrounds and also provides the benefit of a gender balanced professional team. Mediation is especially important when children are involved as it helps to lay the groundwork for ongoing cooperation between the parents after divorce.
