We, the Roman Catholic worshipping community of the Church of Saints John and Paul, have heard and responded to the call of Jesus Christ to proclaim the Good News in word and deed. At our Baptism, we as Catholics, have been empowered and made bold by the Holy Spirit to evangelize the community we live in. We welcome all to share our love of Jesus and His church as together we build up the Kingdom of God. We strive to accomplish this task because we are committed to one another in mutual support and presence.
The Sunday Eucharist is the source and summit of our common life together. At the Church of Saints John and Paul we can share our gifts and talents with one another because we have been nourished by Word and Sacrament at His altar. We witness our love of Jesus in our daily lives by reaching out in compassionate service to the aged and infirm, to youth, to the spiritually poor, to the economically oppressed, to the hungry, the alienated, the lonely and the outcast.
Sunday worship is central to the life of St. John's. The entire congregation participates in the weekly renewal of our faith through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Communion. For those new to the Episcopal Church, all forms of worship are contained in the Book of Common Prayer and the Hymnal.

Beth Emeth Synagogue is an egalitarian Conservative synagogue with a multi-generational membership. Our small size and our “participatory congregation” make our shul feel like a second family. Beth Emeth was founded in 1958 by members wanting to get away from the economics and politics of the high-pressure fundraising efforts that often take over at larger synagogues. This group wanted a more intimate experience focused on the joys and fullfulment of practicing Judaism. Today, Beth Emeth is a shul where everybody knows each other, where children become bar or bat mitzvah without having to share a haftorah, where anybody can participate in Shabbat services, and where contributions are not publicized.

Police Station Address Larchmont Police Department Village Hall 120 Larchmont Ave Larchmont, NY 10538
Contact Police Chief: John G. Poleway
About The mission of the Larchmont Police Department is to protect life and property and to preserve the public peace. We accomplish our mission by preventing, deterring, detecting, and solving crimes, by arresting offenders, by enforcing laws and ordinances over which we have jurisdiction, and by rendering related services to the public that further this mission.
A community free from crime and disorder remains an unachieved ideal; nevertheless, consistent with the values of a free society, the Village of Larchmont and the Larchmont Police Department aspire to this ideal. The Police Department's role is to enforce the law in a fair and impartial manner, recognizing both the statutory and judicial limitations of police authority and the constitutional rights of all persons. It is not the role of the Department to legislate, to render legal judgments, or to punish.
In the vast majority of police agencies throughout this nation, about 80% of police work does not directly address crime. The Larchmont Police Department is no exception . . .
History of the Larchmont Police Department Following the incorporation of the Village of Larchmont, the Board of Trustees made one of the first orders of business to provide police services. Subsequently, on October 10, 1891 the Village Board appointed Constable Richard Restore. To assist the constable carry out his duties several “gentlemen volunteers” were added to the complement.
By 1893 a second constable joined the ranks of the police department, by 1896 there were three constables patrolling Larchmont and finally on March 15, 1898 a full time police department was organized with an aggregate complement of five patrolmen. In fact, at the time Larchmont boasted the only full-time uniformed police force between New Rochelle and Stamford.
William M. Hynds, one of the original five patrolmen was appointed the Department’s first Captain in 1902; he would later become the first Chief of Police. Under his direction the Larchmont Police Department, whose headquarters along with the Fire Department and Village Hall were located at Circle and Linden Aves, acquired bicycles for each member of the force. By the early 1920’s Village Hall was relocated to a new building at the intersection of Larchmont Ave and Boston Post Road, the Police Department complement had risen to seventeen, and motorcycles were added to augment the conventional foot patrols.

Academically, the high school offers some interesting electives in addition to the usual Regents and Advanced Placement courses. A fairly new science elective is called "Criminalistics". It focuses on the use of the sciences of biology, chemistry and physics in crime solving. The "Art of Film" class teaches students to discover new ways to look at film. They see films, read scripts, biographies and critical commentaries as well as write their own critical and analytical paper on an individual filmmaker. The study of Chinese within the Foreign Language department engages many students who continue to pursue their study of Chinese in college and beyond. Chinese is a five year course sequence beginning in middle school. Students learn oral and written language skills and many are able to join their teacher on a two-week trip to China before they graduate.
Within the arts, Mamaroneck's programs are extremely strong. Students can pursue a four year course of study in the performing arts, the visual arts and music. In the performing arts, seniors can write and direct their own plays, choreograph their own dance pieces and write their own music. In the visual arts, students have the opportunity to study drawing, illustration, ceramics and painting. In music, besides an award winning Jazz Band, students can participate in quartets, ensembles, a swing choir as well as the more traditional band and orchestra.

History of Larchmont, New York
The earliest known settlers were the Siwanoy Indians, an Algonquin tribe. They harvested the rich marshlands for clams and hunted inland for bear, deer, racoon and muskrat.
In 1614, a Dutch sea captain discovered Long Island Sound after passing through Hell's Gate. He reported seeing campfires in what is now known as Larchmont Manor Park. The indigenous population was not long for the area, once the British and Dutch began buying up the land. By 1720, only a handful of Siwanoys remained in what is now Larchmont.
The next century saw a steady increase in population, as first Quaker refugees from New England and then wealthy New Yorkers established estates in the area. During the late 19th century, Larchmont was known as a summer playground for New York's elite. Many of the large Victorian "cottages" of that era survive in Larchmont Manor.
The summer residents chose to incorporate as a municipality in 1891. Today, Larchmont is a one-mile-square village within the Town of Mamaroneck, served by the New Haven line of Metro-North Railroad and several major highways.
