Bodygenius offers Pilates and Gyrotonic exercises that provide a full-body workout in a one-hour session taught on specially-designed equipment.. Bodygenius provides an opportunity to challenge your body's dysfunctional movement and holding patterns, which may create pain and misalignment, and address these issues through stretching, strengthening and breath work. This way of working provides lasting change beyond traditional exercise.
Gyrotonics incorporate elements of yoga, dance, gymnastics, swimming and tai-chi. Gyrotonic exercises utilize corresponding breathing patterns to energize the musculature and provide aerobic stimulation, important for increasing stamina. Specially designed equipment supports and guides you fluidly through the exercises as you are verbally and manually cued to articulate your spine and support the movement from your core. Lower back tightness and fatigue can be addressed using the gentle traction of the pulley system to strengthen your core muscles and lengthen your spine. By the end of the workout you will feel centered, stretched and strengthened.
Pilates develops your core, the deep abdominal muscles and the muscles closest to the spine, which help control posture and create a streamlined shape. Pilates exercises integrate movement between the torso, pelvis and shoulder girdle, creating balance. Flexibility is improved by stretching and strengthening the muscles simultaneously.

Bedford was first settled under a Connecticut license around the year 1681. It was settled at a place called the "hop-ground" due to its natural product. The original patent, dated 1697, bears the Connecticut seal. In 1700 the settlement was attached to New York by order of King William. Bedford Hills was once known as Bedford Station when the railroad was built in 1847. Bedford Hills extends from its bustling business center at the railroad station to farms and estates and spreads eastward along Harris, Babbitt and Bedford Center roads and south along the busy Route 117 business corridor toward Mt. Kisco. This hamlet is the site of the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. Bedford Hills is also the seat of Town government and home to the Town House, built in 1927, and several other Town buildings where the Police Department and Town offices are located.

The original 1680 Bedford settlement was in Bedford Village in the southeastern portion of the Town, with its Village Green and historic buildings dating to the 18th and early 19th centuries. Among these are the 1787 Court House and several homes built after the British burned the village during the Revolution. In 1972, the Bedford Village Historic District was established by local ordinance and is listed on both the New York State and the National Register of Historic Places. The burying ground, established in 1681, was apparently still in use after the Colonial period as the latest headstone dates to 1885. A museum in the Court House is open to the public.
